The Catbark concept originated in 2015, spearheaded by Fano B&B (FBB). This was during the time FBB organized excursions within the Wadden Sea, a unique area officially recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Operating in this environment required boats specifically designed with low draft and speed capabilities.

To meet these demanding specifications, a dedicated group of engineers and experienced ocean sailors developed the initial Catbark concept. This design featured a ship based on GRP (Glass-Reinforced Plastic) pipe construction, incorporating a novel propulsion system and wings-in-water technology.

Due to the ever increasing interest of the possibilities in Catbark Concept different advantages in use and energy production, FBB are now undergoing a owner structure change to comply with market demand.
